How It Works

COMFLY uses three different scientific modes of action.

Clothianidin works on the insect nervous system. It targets the nAChR receptors of pests. When insects like aphids feed on treated plants, their nervous system stops working which gives reliable control. This protects the young maize plant from sucking insects during early growth.

Metalaxyl-M moves inside the seed and young roots. It stops fungal growth by blocking RNA formation inside the fungus. This prevents diseases like damping off and root rot that usually attack maize at the germination stage.

Fludioxonil stays on the seed surface and protects from outside fungal attacks. It works on the MAP kinase system of fungi which controls spore germination. By blocking this pathway, it stops infection on the seed coat.
